Your Questions Answered
Prepare for your nautical adventure with our guide to life on the water. If you can't find what you need, we are ready to assist you.
How should I dress for the trip?
Dress for sea conditions as temperatures drop offshore. We advise layering up with windproof gear, waterproof jackets, and flat, non-slip footwear. Leave the heels behind and bring strapped sunglasses. Lifejackets are supplied. Don't forget sun protection, as the water reflects UV rays even on overcast days. Stay comfortable throughout your journey.
What if the weather is unsuitable?
Your safety is our priority. Our skippers monitor the Solent constantly; if conditions aren't safe, we will reach out to reschedule or provide a total refund. While a bit of spray adds to the excitement, we never compromise on safety. We ensure you feel confident and informed before every departure.
Is this suitable for kids?
Definitely. RIB adventures are fantastic for families. We welcome young explorers aged 8 and above, providing custom-fit lifejackets for all ages. Please note that those under 16 require an adult companion.
What is the vessel capacity?
We accommodate up to 10 guests per boat. For larger celebrations like coastal weddings or team-building events, contact our crew to arrange multiple vessels and coordinated departures for your party.
What is covered in the cost?
Your booking includes a professional commercially endorsed skipper, all fuel, safety equipment, and a comprehensive briefing. The price you see is the final price, ensuring a transparent experience with no surprise fees.
Is prior sailing skill required?
No experience is necessary. Our qualified skippers manage all technical aspects so you can focus on the scenery. We provide a full safety talk and adjust the speed to suit the comfort level of everyone.
How safe is the RIB?
Our boat is fully commercially coded and insured for your peace of mind. Every journey is led by a RYA-certified skipper and includes a mandatory safety induction. We carry premium lifejackets and tailor every route to the day's maritime conditions.
Might I get splashed?
Being an open vessel, some sea spray is likely. We recommend wearing waterproof outer layers to stay dry. The skipper will modulate the vessel's speed and angle to ensure a smooth ride. If you prefer a dryer, calmer route, just mention it when you check in.
Will I feel motion sickness?
Seasickness is uncommon on RIBs due to the open air and high-speed stability. If you are sensitive to movement, we suggest taking medication an hour prior. Inform your skipper, and we will choose the most protected waters for your comfort.
Can we pack refreshments?
Soft drinks and light snacks are perfect for private outings. For a luxury touch, ask about our dining partnership with Appley Manor Hotel. To ensure safe passage, we require guests to save alcoholic beverages for when they are back on dry land. Safety is always our primary concern during the voyage.
Are pets allowed onboard?
We love dogs and can accommodate them on private bespoke charters with advance notice. Owners are required to bring a specialized canine buoyancy aid. Please note dogs cannot join our shared heritage tours unless you hire the boat for a private tour. Reach out to our team to discuss how we can best welcome your four-legged friend on a private trip.
Are custom itineraries an option?
Personalization is our specialty. Private charters are designed around your interests, whether it's a romantic sunset proposal, a visit to historic Osborne House, or a lunch stop in Cowes. Tell us your vision, and we will map out the perfect sea route.
How to reserve?
Heritage tours can be secured via our digital booking system in moments. For private events, weddings, or custom maritime adventures, please send us an inquiry with your preferred dates. Our team will respond swiftly with a personalized plan and a transparent quote for your journey.
