Learn to handle a powerboat with confidence
Anchor Boat Training offers practical, friendly powerboat tuition for complete beginners and those looking to build on their experience. Led by our RYA qualified instructor, Michael Shorey, our courses combine expert teaching with plenty of time on the water, so you gain real skills, confidence and a thorough understanding of safety.

RYA Powerboat Level 1 – Start Powerboating
A one-day introduction to boat handling and safety, covering launching and recovery, preparing the boat and crew, picking up a mooring buoy, and coming alongside. No previous experience is needed and the minimum age is eight, making it ideal for novices, crew members and younger family members.

RYA Powerboat Level 2Â
Our two-day course gives you the skills and knowledge to drive a powerboat safely at speed and in close quarters, including high-speed manoeuvres, anchoring, man overboard recovery, collision regulations and basic coastal navigation. On completion, you can apply for your International Certificate of Competence (ICC), allowing you to hire powerboats abroad.
